Approach & Methodology

A dialogue between ancestral memory and real-time computational systems.

My practice explores the bioacoustic and material properties of traditional instruments—such as hydraulic whistling bottles, flutes, and ritual whistles—articulated through DSP and multichannel immersive environments.

Through interactive installations and live performances, I create spaces where attentive listening and conscious presence encourage reflection on territory, acoustic ecology, and the relationships between body, space, resonance, and the surrounding environment.

Selected Projects

Performance & Quadraphonic Sound Installation / 2026

Allpa Samay

“The resonance of clay and air transformed into a three-dimensional soundscape.”

Interactive sound installation based on the acoustic behavior of pre-Columbian hydraulic whistling vessels. The space integrates a 4-channel diffusion system that actively responds to the presence and proximity of the audience.

Music EP / 2025

Chimparazu

“The sound of the Andes and its communities.”

This EP is a mixture of ancestral instruments and melodies with contemporary instruments and rhythms, an acknowledgment of Izurieta’s Andean roots and his work with indigenous communities. It brings together ancestral stories and songs in Kichwa, a native language in Chimborazo spoken by the Puruhá culture—guardians of Chimparazu and Intichurikuna (Children of the Sun).
